More on Parking in the UNA

UBC has played a strong role in trying to shape parking regulations in the UNA.  Appointed UBC administrative staff seem to bristle under the weight of democratic criticism.  They also seem to feel very entitled to issue statements of support or opposition in relation to the work of democratically elected local area representatives.

Have a read of the UBC director of transport's comments on the interim parking regulations.

As the local area matures into a real democratic representative administration UBC staffers will find themselves having to take more and more of a backstage role and will find that they will slowly but surely lose their privileged place as their development plans bring more and more people to live on campus who expect real democracy1
